Images from Space: Ni'ihau
Space Shuttle photograph of Ni'ihau island. The island is 30 x 10 km in size. Ni'ihau is the deeply eroded remnant of a shield volcano fringed by younger volcanics. The patch of gray at the southern tip of the island (bottom of this image) is a large set of sand dunes.
