Tour around Kilauea Crater: Stop 3
Halemaumau Crater is about 920 meters across, and about 85 meters deep. The last eruption within the Crater was in April 1982, but here we see some of the lava flows that formed in 1974. The different layers in the wall show some of the multiple lava flows from which Kilauea has built.
