About 1 km along the Mauna Loa road (which is 3.7 km from the Park entrance along Hwy. 11), looking north. There are some very sick looking Ohia here (maybe affected by fume from Kilauea?) that are in scattered stands. Grasses cover the intervening areas. Note that there are a few pahoehoe flow lobes exposed at the surface between the grasses. From here you can continue on to Site 33 or you can pick another point from the Radar Tour page.
