210 mm Site of Kilauea Caldera, from approximately the same location as Site #3. The dark edge in center/right is the wall of Halemaumau crater. The thin dark line extending to the left is the eastern rim of the caldera. White patches on the rim are the sulfur deposits associated with the fumaroles around Halemaumau. The vegetation in the foreground is mature Ohia forest (~10 - 15 m tall) that lies outside the radar image. The lighter colored surface is scrub vegetation on top of a'a lava flows that are several hundred years old. Individual bushes seen here are a few meters in diameter and one or two meters high. From here you can continue on to Site 5 or you can pick another point from the Radar Tour page.
