Stop 6: The North Coast of West Maui
The road around West Maui has only been paved for a few years, but it now offers some of the most scenic views of all of Maui. Here are two views of the rocky coastline that every tourist should see!
These are the domes at Puu Koae, which can also be seen from the air in aerial photo #2 . It's possible to climb these domes in about 20 minutes, but be careful, as they are steep and covered with loose rocks!
Crashing waves, deserted coastlines, and the prospects of attractive views across the channel to Molokai make this part of West Maui an excellent place to enjoy one of the many nice aspects of Hawaii.
From here you can continue on to Stop 7 on the ground, or you can pick another point from the Maui Virtual Field Trip page.
