Stop 6: Waiahole
While there is always the desire to head for the best beaches in Hawaii, it's well worth taking a few of the minor roads that head inland towards the Pali. Just south of Waiahole there is one such road that provides wonderful views of the countryside.
Driving just a few hundred meters towards the Pail, one sees many types of tropical plants in unspoiled valleys. Unfortunately for the tourist, it's almost impossible to walk through this type of vegetation, which is closely packed and hides a very muddy, uneven, ground.
Driving out of the valley, one sees unusual views of some familiar landmarks. Here we see Chinaman's Hat, which is where we're off to at Stop #7.
From here you can continue on to Stop 7 on the ground.
