Stop 7: Makapuu Beach
At the foot of Makapuu Point is Makapuu Beach, which is great for body surfing. Sea Life Park is also minutes away from this beach. In addition the coastline is very attractive along this part of the island, and includes fine views of an offshore ash cone called Rabbit Island.

Koko Head, Hanamuma Bay, Koko Crater and Rabbit Island (seen here) were formed along a line of weakness called a fissure. This fissure erupted off-shore, so that steam explosions were very common and created large ash cones.
From here you can continue on to Stop 8 on the ground.
