Stop 1: Chinatown and Nuuanu Stream
View looking inland along Nuuanu Stream at the corner of Beretania Street.
There are some charming walkways and statues along River Street near Beretania Street. Many, like this one, celebrates the multi-ethnic background of many people in Hawaii.
Chinatown is a great place for tourists and locals to get some excellent food. The buildings in this part of town have a great character as well!
Unlike the main supermarkets and stores in Honolulu, the food stores in Chinatown offer a real opportunity to wander from store to store comparing produce.
Flowers are great favorites with tourists and locals. Along many of the side streets in Chinatown, one finds many flower stores selling handmade leis.
Another view of a local food store in Chinatown.
From here you can continue on to Stop 2.
